In-house Imaging
Our practice has access to a range of specialised equipment that enable us to diagnose a wider variety of medical and surgical conditions sooner. This allows the shortest possible delays in providing the best treatments and options.
Ultrasound
The ultrasound machine that we use is of the equivalent standard used in human hospitals. This machine allows us to get a physical picture of the various organs in the abdominal and thoracic cavities. The high quality images allow for easier interpretation and diagnosis of findings. This ensures that a diagnosis is reached more quickly and treament started sooner.
X-ray
Our modern, digital X-ray machine located at Northgate Vets, allows us to achieve high quality radiographs for diagnosing various conditions; for example a fractured femur or an intestinal obstruction. As soon as the diagnosis is made, appropriate treament can be instituted.
Endoscopy
We also have a flexible endoscope at Northgate Vets, that enables us to see the inside of the oesophagus, stomach and parts of the intestines by passing a small camera with fiberoptic cable. This procedure is done under general aneasthetic and allows good visualisation without performing surgery.
ECG Machine
Our ECG machine at Northgate Vets assists us in diagnosing certain heart conditions thus assisting a more specific diagnosis in abnormal heart function, such as arrhythmias, and instituting timeous, appropriate treatment.
